Graphic artist Alex Doyle and his young companion leave 
Philadelphia expecting to enjoy a leasurely cross-
country drive to California. But every mile feels like 
an eternity when an unexplained van trails them through 
one state after another. Even the van's psychotic driver 
cannot always tell why he chases with such persistence--
and such violence.
